Whatsapp has recently introduced a slew of new features and the messaging app Beta 2.21.19.9 update is no exception. In fact, one of the most anticipated novelties of all is coming, previously announced and only now being implemented. This is multi-device support.
Previously, the only way to use WhatsApp on desktop was the Whatsapp web service, which also required a constant connection to the mobile app. However, as of today, Whatsapp can be used on four different platforms, all synced with each other† However, the smartphone remains essential: only with it can authorization for access on other systems be granted.
The multi-device system is still in the works, but if previously it was only available to some users, now anyone enrolled in the beta program can use it public† Connecting other devices is very easy: it works with a QR code, just like Whatsapp Web.
It should be borne in mind that, as it is still ongoing, multi-device support isn’t perfector. For example, on additional devices it is not possible to view the position in real time, fix the chats at the top and join groups.
At the moment it is not known exactly with which criteria the update will be released. Some users report that they have already received it so keep an eye on the app if you are interested in this new feature.
