Earlier today, placeholders for Microsoft support surfaced for two upcoming Surface Laptop 4 models: an AMD and an Intel. The placeholders were spotted by @walkingcat:
The placeholders are already gone, but the German news site WinFuture gave more details last month. The AMD models will feature the latest generation Ryzen 5 4680U and Ryzen 7 4980U models, while the Intel models will feature the brand new Core i5-1145G7 and Core i7-1185G7.
According to that WinFuture report, the AMD models will once again only be offered at lower specifications. Intel models go up to 32GiB RAM and 1TB storage; the AMD models have a maximum of 16GiB and 512GB respectively. On the positive side, AMD models will be available with 13.5-inch screens for the first time this year.
We generally expect official announcements of these and other Surface products at Microsoft’s Spring Surface launch event sometime in the next week or two.
Update: Latest discovered FCC filings for four “portable computing devices” variants from Microsoft, which are likely to be the Surface Laptop 4: C3K1979, C3K1958, C3K1952, and C3K1950.
