TCL has announced a new 5G-enabled entry-level smartphone model. It is called TCL 20R 5G and aims to offer good value for money by combining 5G and a 90 Hz display. The phone will be on the market in October for the suggested retail price of 179.99 euros.
Making 5G accessible to a large group of people is the goal of many smartphone manufacturers, and that also applies to TCL.
The new 20R 5G comes with a 6.52-inch display with a teardrop notch and offers an HD resolution of 1600 x 700 pixels, something we often see on low-end phones, but on the other hand, the panel has a brightness of 500 nits. Another plus is the 90 Hz refresh rate to make animations smoother. Users can also opt for the adaptive refresh rate for energy saving.
5G and three cameras
The heart of this 20R 5G is the new processor MediaTek Dimension 700: a 2.2 GHz chipset with integrated 5G modem. It is an energy-efficient 7 nanometer processor and is assisted by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The device debuts with a 4500 mAh, but without a fast charger, and as far as the software is concerned, you can count on Android 11. Users can unlock the phone thanks to the fingerprint scanner on the back.
TCL 20R 5G uses a total of three lenses on the back. A 13 Megapixel sensor is the main camera flanked by a 2 Megapixel macro camera and a 2 Megapixel depth camera. At the front is an 8 Megapixel sensor and, according to TCL, it can also be used for facial recognition.

TCL 20R 5G will be available from mid-September in Granite Gray and Lazurite Blue colors from telephone operators in the 4GB + 64GB version at a suggested retail price of €179.90 and on the Open Market channel in the 4GB + 128GB version from the end of September . suggested retail price of €209.90.
